Free Social Media Marketing Tips | Small Business 2021

I’m a big fan of social media. It’s the biggest equalizer in the modern age. Before social media, usually larger companies were able to leverage their large budgets to place ads on t.v or newspapers.

If we fast forward today, it’s a different story. I want to tell you that you can market your business for $0 and make a profit. Tesla is an advocate of spending no money on marketing. In fact, zero-budget marketing strategies are ideal.

You can spend the profits on the operations of the business too. The best kind of marketing is a marketing strategy that involves minimal effort and spending.

There are marketing strategies that include word of mouth and traditional methods.

In this post, I am focused on Social Media. It’s because Social Media gives small businesses and startups a quick start to generating customers to their business. Social Media is low cost, easy to get started, and requires minimal effort to begin.

The three social media channels you can use to get started include the following:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

These social media channels work for most businesses and services. I won’t go into detail about categories though. I’ll concentrate on business tools you can use right away.

I’ll have a list of 3 social media tools you can use right now to start marketing your businesses.

Facebook Groups

Facebook groups are community-based channels for users to join. A simple search is the best way to find the groups that are similar to your service or product.

For example, if you own a book store, there are Facebook groups that have a ton of readers. The important part is finding the Facebook Groups that work for your business. I’d like to add that there is a group for businesses too.

In those Facebook groups, you can share and interact with potential customers. It’s a great way to find your target audience too.

Note: Don’t spam your business services or product everywhere though. It’s important that you avoid spamming your business and focus on building relationships with your potential customers.

Instagram Direct Messages

Instagram

Instagram is free to join. What makes Instagram an excellent option for small businesses and startups is that you can direct message potential customers right away. You can use hashtags to expose your products and services to potential buyers.

Instagram includes a built-in store for business profiles. Customers enjoy shopping on Instagram because they can buy items with minimal effort. I’d recommend setting up an online store via Instagram. This way customers can buy directly from your Instagram account.

The Instagram product store is only accessible to products a not services.

Note: You can only send 15 direct messages per day. Avoid spamming them because it

Pinterest

Pinterest

Pinterest is a low-key small business and start-up social media marketing machine. If I had to choose one of the three to start with, I’d choose Pinterest. It’s because Pinterest allows you to link your items, website, and anything additional.

As you build your pins, over time, it’s an awesome tool to build your Search Engine Optimization with. This means when users search for your type of service or product on Google, they have a chance of finding you.

You can’t beat that considering it’s free tool.

Pinterest gives you the option to create a business page and link it to your page. You can build your Pinterest overtime.

Now that we have touched on those three tools you can use. I’d recommend getting started. I am confident these three social media tools are an effective option for businesses with small budgets or would rather not spend money on social media altogether.
